Thanks, Dr.! Such a wise comment! My family is also mostly from the tropics (Jamaica, southern China and India). And yes, I think that it is easier to get along in that climate with less protein and even fat to some extent. But as you suggest, cold climates require the body to burn through protein and fat more quickly. Even so, only in western countries do people try to go completely without protein and fat whereas in your culture, people eat based on what they can afford and what's available, not for dietary perfection. When we try to eat to avoid, we undoubtedly begin to eat a lot of non-naturally occurring foods which are so damaging to the body. Anyway, thanks for stopping by. I wish you luck with your blog!

I am an Indian doctor practicing in Moscow and I find your site interesting. It is a misconception that all Hindus are veggies. I am a beef-eating, pork-eating Hindu. I think in a tropical country like India less fat and protein from meat is required. But to a cold place like Russia where I live, I think it is absolutely necessary to have a non-veg diet

Hi, Honey! Thanks for the comment. I have so many things to share on this site, but I have so little time to myself in front of the computer to formulate thoughts. Hopefully soon I'll have some killer content.

@MelBird13

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am sorry to hear that you have gone through this healthwise and with your good friend, but so glad to hear that you are ready to turn things around. Sometimes it can be lonely at first going against the grain (no pun intended), but hardly anything worthwhile ever is! Columbus, Washington, Gandhi, and countless others have proved that. Please let me know if there are any articles you'd like to see to help on your road to recovery and I'll do my best to include them. With a new baby in the house, my time is limited, but I will try my best. Many blessings to you!

(sorry, internet glitch)
... I think your words of reason may very well have saved my life. I am showing a lot of very scary symptoms. (Hair loss, extreme weight loss, profound weakness, sudden allergic reactions, and more)

I look forward to reading more!

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for this post.

For some strange reason, it appeared in a Google search today, and I have found myself reading it again and again.

Recently, I've had to break away from a very dear friendship because of the other person's radical veganism. I had been starving myself for nearly two years trying to walk alongside what was becoming an increasingly mad quest for dietary perfection.
